Head of Client Accounting – Privately Owned Corporate Services Provider
Our client is a privately owned corporate services group with operations in Luxembourg and Switzerland. The firm supports an international client base that spans private wealth vehicles, private equity–backed structures, holding companies and various SPVs. The organisation is preparing for its next stage of expansion.
The company intends to reinforce its platform and lay the groundwork for a future PSF license application, while continuing to grow its unregulated service offering. To accompany this transition, they are creating an additional senior leadership position dedicated to steering the client accounting function in Luxembourg.
Role Summary
The Head of Client Accounting will oversee the full accounting delivery for a varied portfolio of Luxembourg entities and will lead a team of approximately five accounting professionals. This role forms part of the local management group and will serve as the main reference point for all client accounting matters. The incoming leader will assume day-to-day ownership of client-related accounting matters.
The position combines two central elements:
- Team leadership and development
- End-to-end responsibility for accurate, compliant and timely accounting output for holding structures and SPVs
Main Responsibilities
- Provide direction, coaching and performance management for the client accounting team
- Allocate and supervise workloads to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery
- Oversee all accounting processes for a portfolio of holding and financing entities, including:
- General ledger and bookkeeping supervision
- Preparation and review of interim and annual financial statements
- Handling VAT and corporate tax matters, with external support where appropriate
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical or structural questions from clients and colleagues
- Strengthen internal processes, controls and documentation within the client accounting function
- Collaborate closely with the internal finance lead, corporate administration and compliance teams to maintain a unified approach to client service
- Support the organisation’s roadmap towards a PSF-ready environment, including tighter governance and reporting standards
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding and capability development as the team grows
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and solution-oriented thinking
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, offering strategic insight and ensuring service excellence
Profile
- University degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, Expert-Comptable or equivalent) is highly desirable
- Approximately 10–15 years’ relevant experience in Luxembourg, ideally within:
- Corporate services / fiduciary / trust environment, or
- Audit with strong exposure to holding and SPV structures
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a small accounting team
- Solid technical knowledge of Luxembourg accounting standards and requirements for holding and SPV entities
- Experience with regulated environments or investment funds is beneficial but not mandatory
- Hands-on working style with the willingness to take charge of challenging files
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to different personalities and balance client, business and team priorities
- Can-do attitude and solution driven mindset.
- Stable career history with clear progression — the firm values long-term commitment and steady development
- Fluency in English; French or German is an advantage
