Are you a strong Compliance Officer ready for your next step up?
Our client, a leading global private equity firm with one of the strongest presences in Luxembourg among PE firms, is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join their dynamic compliance team of 35-40 professionals. Known for their substantial assets under management and numerous Luxembourg-domiciled funds, they offer genuine exposure to sophisticated compliance work in a stable, collaborative environment with strong team retention and an exceptional working atmosphere.
About the Opportunity This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly collegial, multicultural environment where people genuinely enjoy working together. You'll be the deputy to the Head of Compliance, handling sophisticated regulatory matters across both Luxembourg operations (80-90%) and growing international projects (10-20%).
We're looking for a strong Compliance Officer who is ready for that next step up to Senior level - someone seeking increased responsibility and autonomy, but not necessarily immediate management roles. This is a genuine promotion opportunity where you'll gain significant exposure to complex regulatory work, international projects, and direct senior stakeholder interaction, while working in a supportive team environment.
What You'll Do
Act as deputy to the Head of Compliance with significant autonomy
Identify, interpret, and advise on European and Luxembourg financial regulations, CSSF Circulars, and AIFM/AIF requirements
Advise Senior Management on regulatory obligations, new products and their compliance impact
Execute the Luxembourg Compliance Program and integrate it into the firm's global framework
Liaise directly with CSSF and coordinate internal/external audits
Draft policies, risk assessments, compliance reports and advisory memos
Provide compliance training and education to the business
Support AML/CFT compliance and regulatory obligations
Collaborate on cross-jurisdictional and international projects
What We're Looking For
Minimum 5 years compliance experience in Asset Management/Alternative Investment Funds
Strong background in regulatory compliance (not purely AML-focused)
Expertise in Luxembourg alternative investment fund regulation
Experience in private markets/private equity strongly preferred
Master's degree in finance, law or related field
Solution-oriented with hands-on approach
Excellent analytical and advisory capabilities
Strong interpersonal skills - able to interact confidently with senior management
Humble, collaborative personality who thrives in team environments
Excellent English (essential); French and/or German a plus
Small, collaborative compliance team (3 FTE) with excellent work atmosphere
Highly international, multicultural office with strong team spirit
Direct exposure to international projects and global firm initiatives
Professional development through on-the-job training and mentorship
Access to education assistance programs
Benefits:
Competitive salary, discretionary bonus, Luncheon vouchers (18 x 15€/ month), Death and disability insurance, 26 days of holidays, and more.
One-month sabbatical after every 5 years of service
Remote work policy (up to 1 day/week, Tuesday-Thursday)
Team events and volunteer opportunities
Career progression opportunities within a growing global firm
